Rare Ring #AtoZChallenge
“Rohan, I have to find that ring.” He was beside himself. Panic was a millisecond away and he did not want to throw a fit right now. He knew cleaning up was a bad idea.
Rohan sighed and squeezed the bridge of his nose. “We’ll find the ring.”
Ryker bit his lip and his gaze swept over his parent’s bedroom. His mother had passed away years ago and his father passed two weeks ago. He and Rohan were there to sort threw their belongings and get the house ready to sell. “We can’t do anything without those rings!” His father’s passing was a long time coming. He suffered from lung cancer. It spread all over his body and by then it was too late.
“Okay! We’ll find the rings! What’s with these rings anyway?” Rohan picked up a box then set it back down.
Ryker’s breathing picked up. “They were mom and dad’s wedding bands. Before them my grandparents, before that my great-grandparents, my great-great-grandparents, my great-great-great grandparents. I have to have those rings!”
Rohan gawked. “They’ve been in your family that long?”
“Yes!” Ryker twirled, scanning the room. “Every marriage those rings were apart of never divorced. I have to have them to propose to you!” Ryder shook out the sheets he folded a minute ago.
“Did you just ask me to marry you?”
Ryker froze, staring at Rohan. “I… Well…”
Rohan strode towards him. “Did you?”
Ryker swallowed and nodded. He wanted to ask Rohan for almost six months but he couldn’t find the right rings. When Ryker finally told his dad about his intentions his father offered their wedding bands, his dad wanted to have them cleaned and the stones reset before giving them to him. It meant everything to him that his dad approved of him and Rohan together.
“Yes. Yes, I’ll marry you, with or without the rings.”
“I’d prefer with the rings.” Ryker was smiling so big his cheeks hurt.
“Then we better find them.”
