I was talking to a friend of mine and we got on the topic of author prizes. There’s the standard book giveaways, a small section of story not available to the public, a signed book, a gift certificate, ect. Pretty standard stuff.

We started brainstorming about prizes out of the normal. The two that really stuck with us was a Skype chat date or Kik chat. I’m sure most know what Skype is, video chatting, but Kik is like texting without either party giving their personal number.

You could chat with your favorite author about any of their work or whatever (within reason, of course). Each would be like an ongoing prize, sort of.

Kik would be the easier of the two since it’s like texting. Skype would require a little more coordination. Would either prize be something any of you would be interested in? Is there something else you guys want to see? Vote and let me know.
