Fire Fighting 101 #AtoZchallenge

I can’t wait to crawl into bed. Farris Fitzgerald thinks to himself as we enters his front door. Crawl in and not come out for a week. That sounds like an excellent idea. His whole body aches and throbs with every movement. His last shift was rough. Okay it was hell. Literally. Ten fires in twenty-four hours. Ten deadly fires.

The papers are pimping this our faster than the Houston Fire Department can respond. The Chief unfortunately agrees with the press: serial arsonist.

Well isn’t that just fucking fantastic.

Sighing Farris ambles to his bedroom taking caution with every move. Now don’t be fooled Farris is very much in shape but after ten fires anyone would be feeling it. Thank God the Chief called in the volunteer fire fighters to take over the rest of their forty-eight hour shift. Him and his men wouldn’t have made it.

Trudging into his bedroom Farris comes up short.

“Come here.” Flynn orders.

Farris’ joy at seeing his boyfriend after a day like today cannot be described. He needed to see Flynn just as much as he needs his bed. Obeying Flynn’s order Farris draws the slightly smaller man to him. “I love you.” Farris whispers softly. Today he thought he’d never see Flynn again. The thought sends another stab of fear and pain through Farris.

“I love you too, hero. Now follow me. I’ve a hot bath drawn for you.”

Signing into Flynn’s hair Farris is more than grateful to be home.
